    New features in Autodesk® Maya 2012 are:

  • Viewport 2.0 - Motion blur, depth-of-field and ambient occlusion in viewport allows artists to work in higher fidelity environment without time-consuming rendering.

  • Node-Based Render Passes - Create and edit node-based represntations of render passes directly within Maya and output through the mental ray® renderer. Verify and refine render passes prior to handing them to a compositor!

  • Editable Motion Trails - Edit animation directly in the viewport without the need to switch context to the graph editor. Inituitive and quick, motion trails give animators a smoother and more productive workflow.

  • Substance Prodcedural Textures - A new library of 80 resolution-indendent, tiny disk space footprint, procedural textures can be easily exported to a game engine or converted to bitmap for renders

  • Enhanced, Multi-Product Animation Workflows - A unified toolset and consistent workflows allows artists to seamlessly move between other Autodesk® products for maximum productivity.
